- No Kidding! United dragging report: “Our review shows that many things went wrong that day.”
United had a terrible few days a couple of weeks ago when they ended up having airport security drag a doctor off a plane who refused to give up his seat when he was involuntarily bumped from his flight. The airline has put a lot of effort into figuring out how this PR disaster came about and what they could do to keep it from happening again. - Father James Martin, S.J, writes about United and the morality of capitalism
I always enjoy hearing what business school graduate and Jesuit priest Father James Martin has to say about current events, and his response to United’s crisis is really interesting. He talks about how United has every right and need to make a profit, but their business needs to remember that it is about more than just profits. - MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow continues to be dominant in prime-time cable news
Rachel Maddow got a lot of attention several weeks ago when her show reported on two leaked pages from Donald Trump’s tax returns. She also got a lot of second guessing about how she handled the story – i.e. that she did it in her usual way of a 20-minute lead in with context before reporting about the actual tax return. But it seems to be working for her, with her routinely winning her time slot in the so-called ‘demo’ – viewers aged 25-to-54 that advertisers really want to reach. - Pittsburg High School student journalists invited to White House Correspondents dinner
The group of Pittsburg High School journalists who helped bring down a high school principal who had been hired for their school with questionable credentials are going to be attending the 2017 White House Correspondents dinner as guests of the Huffington Post. What a great reward to a group of brave and hard-working students!
